New York City, NY April 9, 2021 – (Clarity Times). Former rapper and actor Earl Simmons Aka DMX died on Friday, April 9, 2021. Mr. Simmons was 50 and left behind fifteen children.
In the statement, the family expressed their sadness to announce the passing of their loved one, DMX. He was hospitalized at the White Plains Hospital on life support after he suffered from a cardiac arrest.
“Earl was a warrior who fought till the very end,” the family continued. “He loved his family with all of his heart, and we cherish the times we spent with him.” the family said in the statement.
People from all over the world who used to listen to his music including artists, athletes, and other celebrities paid tribute to him on social media Friday.
The name DMX stands for Dark Man X. The rapper began his career in the 1990s. In 1998, he released his first album titled “It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot.” He has sold millions of albums and had some success in acting by appearing in multiple films including, “Romeo Must Die” and “Cradle 2 The Grave.”
DMX was struggling with drug addiction. In a recent video posted online, DMX can be seen explaining how he was introduced to drugs by a cousin and mentor.
For now, the family has not announced a date yet for the funerals of the famous rapper.
