West Palm Beach, Fla. (Clarity Times) – Severe storms ahead of Hurricane Milton left nearly 100,000 Florida Power & Light (FPL) customers without power Wednesday evening across South Florida.

Indian River County saw the highest number of outages, with over 25,000 customers affected. St. Lucie County followed closely with over 22,000 outages, while Palm Beach County reported around 21,500. Martin County neared 20,000 outages, and Okeechobee County had approximately 2,700.

By 7 p.m., FPL had restored electricity to about 28,000 customers. However, 90,930 remained without power as tornadoes and severe weather ravaged the region, just hours before Hurricane Milton’s expected landfall in western Florida.
