The president of the United States acknowledged Wednesday, September 9, 2020 that he knew first-hand the severity of the coronavirus but decided to not tell the American people about it. According to Donald Trump, downplay the nature of the coronavirus also known as Covid-19 was the best thing to do to avoid causing panic across the country.
President Trump stated that he wanted to always play it down even as he had declared a national emergency over the virus days earlier.
“I still like playing it down, because I don’t want to create a panic.” President Trump told Bob Woodward, an investigative journalist from the Washington Post.
