Miami, FL | July 22, 2025 – Clarity Times: After days of mounting speculation and swirling rumors, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has officially confirmed the arrest of Pierre Reginald Boulos, a prominent Haitian businessman and lawful U.S. permanent resident. The confirmation came via a public statement from ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) on July 21, validating growing concerns about Boulos’s detention in Miami.
The U.S. government alleges that Boulos was actively involved in a campaign of violence and support for Haitian gangs’ actions, believed to have played a major role in destabilizing Haiti. These findings emerged from a coordinated investigation involving ICE, the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, and USCIS’s Fraud Detection and National Security Directorate.
According to ICE, the Department of State determined that Boulos’s presence and activities in the U.S. posed a serious threat to U.S. foreign policy interests, particularly given his connections to criminal elements in Haiti. The agency stated that his lawful permanent residency is now subject to revocation and removal under Section 237(a)(4)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
Authorities also revealed that Boulos failed to disclose key facts during his green card application process—namely, his political role in founding Mouvement pour la Transformation et la Valorisation d’Haïti (MTV) and a prior referral for prosecution by Haiti’s Anti-Corruption Unit over alleged loan mismanagement.
He is currently being held in ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) custody.
Rumors Now Reality: Confirmation Shakes Haitian Diaspora
For days, rumors of Boulos’s arrest spread rapidly across Haitian communities both in South Florida and abroad. Now that ICE has confirmed the reports, reactions have been swift and intense. Known as a powerful figure in both the private and political sectors, Boulos’s legal troubles come at a time of increasing scrutiny on those allegedly fueling unrest in Haiti.
U.S. officials emphasized a firm stance: individuals benefiting from U.S. immigration status cannot use that protection to aid criminal or terrorist-linked groups overseas, including the Haitian organization Viv Ansanm, which has been designated a foreign terrorist group by U.S. authorities.
“The United States will not allow individuals to enjoy the benefits of legal status in our country while facilitating violence or supporting criminal organizations abroad,” ICE stated.
Clarity Times Inquiry to ICE Still Unanswered
Clarity Times previously contacted ICE to request details and confirmation regarding the arrest, prior to the agency’s public statement. As of this writing, our request remains unanswered, despite the official confirmation now being released.
