New York, September 23, 2024 – The 2024 Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) will take place in New York on September 23 and 24. Key speakers include Prince Harry, actor Matt Damon, and World Central Kitchen founder José Andrés.
This year’s theme, “What’s Working,” focuses on effective solutions to global issues like conflict, inequality, and food insecurity. Former President Bill Clinton stated that CGI aims to move from discussion to action on critical topics such as climate change and global health.
Prince Harry will address The Archewell Foundation’s new initiative supporting parents affected by online harms. Matt Damon will update on his $1 billion plan for water and sanitation in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. José Andrés will highlight World Central Kitchen’s rapid response to disasters and honor workers lost in Gaza.
Since its revival in 2022, CGI has maintained a focus on positive change. The initiative launched The CGI Ukraine Action Network last year, a collaboration involving former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska. The conference coincides with the UN General Assembly and will feature leaders like Chobani CEO Hamdi Ulukaya and philanthropic figures including Laurene Powell Jobs.
